Teaser Tuesdays: The Wizard's Ward

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

• Grab your current read
• Open to a random page
• Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
• BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
• Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

This month, I am trying to work through my TBR pile, as part of the Take Control of Your TBR Pile Challenge, hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer. Today's teaser is from a book I've had sitting on my shelves for about three years now, since finding a copy on the bargain shelves at our local Books-A-Million.

Experience had taught him that he fared best on his own. Yet he seemed doomed to go through life picking up followers, the way a long cloak picked up troublesome burrs. "First, I must go see if any of the others are still alive."

  30. Hi Melissa,

Thanks for stopping by Fiction Books yesterday. I love to 'meet' new people and your visits and comments will always be welcome.

What a lovely, peaceful cover this edition of the book has, I can see why you were attracted to it.

The teaser lines are not quite so relaxing though, it sounds as though whoever we are talking about, is not best pleased to always be called upon to lead and I do hope that it isn't the Wizard referring to his ward, or she sounds in for a hard time.

I haven't come across this author before and I was surprised to discover just what a prolific writer she is, so you will have plenty more books to add to your collection if you enjoy this one!
